Grounded 2 Early Access is GREAT... But Also More of the Same So Far
Grounded 2 Early Access has finally arrived, and fans of the original survival game are diving back into the backyard with excitement. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, this sequel builds on the charm of the first title, shrinking players down to insect size in a whimsical yet dangerous world. The early access version offers stunning visuals, improved crafting mechanics, and a larger map to explore. New critters and biomes add fresh challenges, while the co-op multiplayer remains a highlight, encouraging teamwork to survive. However, while Grounded 2 shines in many areas, it feels like more of the same so far. The core loop—gathering resources, building bases, and fighting oversized bugs—hasn’t evolved much. Veterans might find the experience a bit too familiar, lacking groundbreaking innovations. That said, it’s still early access, so there’s plenty of room for updates and new content to spice things up. Obsidian’s track record suggests they’ll listen to community feedback and refine the game over time. For now, Grounded 2 Early Access is a delightful return to a unique survival concept, even if it doesn’t fully reinvent the wheel. If you loved the original, you’ll likely enjoy this sequel, but don’t expect a complete overhaul just yet. Keep an eye on future patches for surprises!
